Magazine cover update

Progress so far
In my second attempt of creating a cover using Abbie as a model, I used two filtered lights on each side of her as to not get any flattering shadows, I then changed the metering mode on my camera so that the background would be black. I used a medium long shot so that you can’t really see her feet but her legs draw you to the main focal point which is her shirt. I then used photoshop to add in text and the Fashion Fever title. Building on my first attempt I used a more solid, straight font so that it didn’t look as childish and appealed to a larger audience. I used a two-tone colour to show that both genders can read this magazine, even though there’s a female on the front cover.

I now need to create and add the link to my website into the front cover of this image and possibly add some more writing to intrigue a larger audience into reading the front cover and then buying the magazine as there’s little writing on it at the moment.

For my second cover using a model called Maya, I used a long shot to get all aspects of her clothing and background in the shot. I used a plain grass field so that it juxtaposes her red coat nicely and as to not draw attention away from Maya. I also used a low aperture for this reason. I then used photoshop to change the colours of her coat and jeans to create the “new two-tone look” which would intrigue the audience and enhance sales. On both of the covers I have put “catch the fashion bug” which shall be the magazines slogan and will be implemented in the website aswell, I have made the design of this look like a ladybird to add to the effect of it.

Similarly to the last one, I need to make and add the link to my website to fulfil the requirements of the coursework brief.

As you can see I have completed both front covers, although they may need slight work done. I now need to begin creating the contents pages for each magazine cover.
