For my online website research I shall be analysing two of Bauer media's own magazine websites, Heat and Grazia In order to make my website keep the house style and media messages that Bauer have created.
Heat

Finally, towards the bottom of the website we have more news stories on current topics on entertainment, two of which are focusing more on the younger target audience through its use of childlike stories with unicorns and the infamous Peter Rabbit. Underneath these stories you have more links to their social media accounts which is reinforcing the brands identity and using the multi media platforms to engage and entertain the audience. Above the social media links you have the links to everything on their website and ways to contact them, allowing audience feedback and communication.
Grazia
This is he top of the Grazia website which has the masthead, a web banner with navigational features on it and underneath we have an advert but underneath that we have a macro image of technology and a woman's face blended together. Similarly to the Heat website we have the title slightly further on the left of the web banner to allow space for the navigational features. Like Heat we have all of their website categories available to go to quickly due to the navigational features.
However, unlike the Heat magazine we do not have all of the social media icons on the web banner which doesn't draw younger audiences attention straight to the main sources of interest.
As you can see, this is the rest of the image with the different news, fashion, heath and life stories that Grazia have chosen to share. The image provides small context for the rhetorical question underneath which engages the audience further by getting them thinking about their own opinion. Underneath we have relevant cultural and celebrity news, in particular the drug one is big culturally and is in the news a lot regarding young adults abusing the substance, this is there to advising the public on why the cocaine use is rising in a more body centred society. It also talks about latest food trends, celebrity gossip and the new culturally hot topic of 'plus sized' models. This all ties in with the younger audiences cultural preferences.
However the cultural and political contexts upon which Grazia is targeting their audience is not as relevant as Heat because the target demographic age is 25 to 45 year old women. This would suggest why they haven't included the social media icons in the web banner.
At the bottom of the website we have the link to subscribe o Grazia's magazine, increasing profit and audience by giving them offers when they sign up to a subscription. Underneath the subscribe now button you have all of the other ways to interact, view and contact Grazia directly, along with the social media icons.
However this is slightly different from Heat as it doesn't have a thin banner running along the bottom with each link in line, Heat also has more social media platforms due to its slightly younger target audience.
How this has effected my website plan
Based on this research is shall be using a skyline with all links within the website, similar to Heat and Grazia, I shall have the title of the magazine with the navigational features named Fashion, News, Makeup and subscriptions and possibly some more to the right. Next to that I shall have the social media icons of twitter, Instagram, snapchat and Facebook to instantly allow the younger generation to go straight to their preferred forms of media. Underneath the web banner there shall be a large main image stating either a news story or something about the website like in both websites I researched. Underneath this aim image I shall has a series of different news stories featuring my cover models and others which will all be original imaging to suit the brief of the exam board. At the bottom of the image I shall put all links to contact, review and subscribe to the magazine as well as the link to social media platforms. Finally I shall be using photoshop to recreate the Bauer media info at the bottom of the website to convey the house style and brand identity.
Heat

This is he top of the website for Heat magazine, we can see a red skyline with the title, celebrity, entertainment, style, hair and beauty, win, mental health and subscriptions. On the right of the navigational features we have the five social media platform icons directing the user directly to their social media pages. This is used to appeal to their young, digitally naïve audience of 16-25 year olds as they're going to be drawn to the media platforms rather than the normal website. Underneath the web banner we have a direct link to the Heat radio station with all of the best stars from Ariana to Cheryle, this is again used to attract the younger audience that know all of the famous artists on the background.

Underneath the multimedia feature of radio we have an advert for square space to generate more revenue as it's a commercial magazine and website, based on revenue. Underneath that we have news stories on love islands actor Olivia, which has a audience demographic of 52% being 16-35 year olds and therefore is important to the younger target audience. underneath that you have a news story o entertainment, celebrities and heath services to inform all viewers on current news.
Finally, towards the bottom of the website we have more news stories on current topics on entertainment, two of which are focusing more on the younger target audience through its use of childlike stories with unicorns and the infamous Peter Rabbit.
